Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Wu is a board certified oral surgeon focused on dental implants, pre-prosthetic surgery, wisdom teeth extraction, and tissue engineering, which includes bone regeneration. His treatment philosophy is to treat each patient with the same respect and technique as he would a family member. Given his reputation, medical and dental professionals have specifically sought out Dr. Wu to perform their personal dental implant surgeries. He understands the apprehension with undergoing a surgical procedure and approaches each patient with gentleness and courtesy.
He is a graduate of the highly competitive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., renowned nationally for its unique and intense implant training. In his final year of specialty training, he served as Chief Resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service. He has been published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has given presentations at various conferences. In addition, he has received awards from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Maryland State Dental Association for his achievements.
Currently, Dr. Wu has surgical privileges at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. He is also a faculty member at the American Institute of Implant Dentistry, where he lectures to promote the implant education of other dental professionals.
Dr. Wu grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland and attended the Montgomery Blair High School Magnet Program in Silver Spring, MD. He completed his undergraduate studies with Honors at the University of Maryland on a full academic scholarship, and went on to the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, he was selected for membership into the esteemed Gorgas Odontological Honor Society and Gamma Pi Delta Honor Society. He was also the recipient of the Dr. John A. Nespeca Memorial Scholarship Award and the Howard Van Natta Memorial Scholarship Award.
